FROM THE AUCTION RING TO THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE

The Stephex Exclusive Breeding Collection is about more than discovering exceptional foals. It is about following their potential as they grow, develop, and begin to make their mark in sport.

Over the years, several horses presented through the collection have gone on to confirm the promise first seen at a young age.

Sold during the very first edition of the auction in 2019, Eastcoast Pommex Z is one of them. By Emerald van ’t Ruytershof out of Votre Altesse Pommex Z, a daughter of Vigo d’Arsouilles, she is today competing internationally with Olympic silver medallist Marc Houtzager.

Regularly performing in 1.35m–1.40m Young Horse classes, Eastcoast Pommex Z finished second in the 7-year-old Final at MET II and claimed victory in the CSI2* Silver Tour Final in Zuidwolde.

Another reference from the collection is Ciamant, presented in 2021 as Copernic Pommex Z. By Catoki out of Erenice Horta, a daughter of Diamant de Semilly, he is now an approved stallion at Paul Schockemöhle.

Already a multiple winner in Young Horse jumping tests, with scores of up to 8.5, Ciamant has now added another major achievement to his record by becoming Deister Champion for the 5-year-olds.

The younger generation is already following the same path.

Four-year-old Windsor Pommex Z, by Comme Il Faut out of Erenice Horta, showed his talent early by winning a free jumping class for two-year-old stallions.

He carried that promise into his first season under saddle, producing clear rounds throughout the Equilanno Stallion Competitions and several Stephex Cyclus stages, before finishing second in the Cup of Belgium in Wuustwezel.

And now, at just four years old, Windsor Pommex Z has been crowned Belgian Champion, confirming his development as one of the exciting young references from the collection.

From promising foals to young sport horses and champions, these references reflect the philosophy behind the Stephex Exclusive Breeding Collection: selecting bloodlines and talent with the future in mind.

On Friday, August 28th, a new generation will take centre stage at the Brussels Stephex Masters.

Ten foals. Ten new stories waiting to begin.
